After a year-long renovation, these homeowners are thrilled with the finished makeover on their family home and are particularly proud of the outdoor living area, an outstanding example of flexible space for year round living and the pièce de résistance of the build.

Working closely with an architect, the homeowners created a design that modernised and opened up the family home, with particular focus on improving indoor-outdoor flow to the deck and pool areas used by all three generations of family.

Designed as a direct extension off the living area, the outdoor living area centrepiece was the opening louvre roofs, chosen for year round use no matter what the weather was doing. Impeccable design and detailing on the renovation, such as matching powder coat colours for the louvre roof and window joinery, has been vital to the stunning, seamless finished look. Hidden cavities set in the walls, which allow the doors between the indoor and outdoor area to disappear when opened, are another clever detail. Coupled with door tracks fitted level to the floor, these details blur the line between the indoor and outdoor spaces, achieving the dream of perfect indoor-outdoor flow.

Knowing they have created a year round outdoor living paradise, the rugby mad homeowners are looking forward to inviting friends over this winter, opening up the louvres to enjoy the night sky, eating fresh pizza from the oven and watching the game on the big screen TV.
