Glass Shower Screens & Doors

HomePlus are experts at making unique showers for unique bathroom spaces and we've done it for over 50 years.

When you need a glass shower unit which does not fit standard, 'off-the-shelf' sizes,  a HomePlus custom made shower is the ideal solution.  Bespoke glass shower doors come in a range of different styles and hardware options, which are designed to make the best use of available space.

For example, in small bathrooms a bi-fold (folds in half before opening), or sliding shower screen can open up a tight space, creating room for basins and storage. Whereas in a large bathroom you have more space and options for how the shower door looks and functions, with the semi or fully frameless showers the most popular solution.  Especially for its additional use of glass with is a naturally luxurious style.  r sem a glass shower screen But if you are lucky enough to have a large room, a large shower screen can give your bathroom a look of stunning luxury, romance, and style.

Frameless or Framed

A glass shower screen is designed to stop water from spraying or splashing outside the shower into the bathroom. A framed shower screen with specially designed profiles and seals provides the best in leak-proof functionality. A frameless shower enclosure, while aesthetically pleasing, is normally not leak proof and is best used with floor tiles. A semi-frameless shower screen can give you the best of both worlds.

Floor and Wall Options

A well designed shower unit starts with floors and walls that ideally suited for the showers.  Tiled showers with an entrance that is level with the floor, must have an adequate slope from the shower edge to the shower drain to angle the water away.  These are often seen in a frameless glass shower enclosure and the floor is often gently falling from each corner to the centre drain area.

Tiled enclosures with a raised edge surround have to be carefully designed to allow for the positioning of the shower screen, whilst acrylic shower trays and walls provide an easy clean economical surface.

Infill and Frame Options

Toughened safety glass is by far the most popular shower finish in NZ and usually with clear, see-through glass.  HomePlus also offer custom made shower screens in styrene, frosted glass, patterned glass, or with privacy modesty.

HomePlus offer standard colours such as white, or sterling silver for their showers and custom colours (such as satin black), for most designs.
